Remittances from the Tunisian diaspora to their countries of origin continued to grow in the first ten months of this year, representing a vital source of income for Tunisia.
According to monetary and financial indicators published by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), remittances from Tunisians living abroad reached 6,326 million dinars on September 30.
Workers’ remittances increased by 4% compared with the first nine months of last year, when they totaled 6,084 million dinars.
In dollar terms, remittances from the diaspora amounted to $2,038 million at the end of September (average monthly rate of the dollar = 3.1037 dinars).
Remittances from the Tunisian diaspora reached a record $2.7 billion in 2022.
