Hacker Steals Content From Egypt’s Quran Karim Radio

A hacker stole content from the Egyptian Quran Karim Radio through a piracy program, which was then sold inside and outside Egypt to Arab and Islamic countries.

Preliminary investigations of security services found that a resident of Kafr el-Sheikh Governorate, Nile Delta created and operated a pirate application through which he broadcasts the content of the Egyptian Quran Karim Radio, affiliated to the Egyptian Radio and Television Union, to a large number of subscribers in Egypt and the Arab and Islamic world.

Police said that the suspect had taken his residence as a headquarters to manage and operate the application.

After coordination with the Public Security Sector and Kafr el-Sheikh Security Directorate, the property used to manage the aforementioned application was targeted, and the owner arrested.

By searching his residence, a mobile phone was found with evidence of managing the application and a flash memory containing the software source code.

Upon interrogations he admitted that he is the owner and manager of the application and that he had committed the aforementioned violations with the intent of achieving financial profit.
