Libya Secures First 3 Points in World Cup 2026 Qualifiers


Libyan national football team secured the first three points in World Cup 2026 Africa qualifiers after winning 1-0 against Eswatini at Mbombela Stadium in South Africa on Friday as part of Group D first qualifier matches. 

Libya’s Ahmed Karoua scored the winning goal at the minute 53. Eswatini tried to score and get a point out of the match by Libya’s defense was focused until the final whistle. 

This match is the first official test for the Libyan national team under the leadership of Serbian coach Milutin Sredojevic (Micho).

With this victory, the Libyan team finished second with three points behind leaders Cameroon with the same number of points but with a goal difference, as it defeated Mauritius 3-0.

Angola came third and Cape Verde fourth with one point each as a result of a goalless draw, while the Eswatini national team came fifth and Mauritius sixth with zero points each.
