Tunis April 23, 2024 (Lana) Presidents of Libya, Tunisia, and Algeria expressed complete rejection of foreign interference in Libyan affairs and supported efforts aimed at holding elections in a way that projects Libya’s unity and integrity and ensures its security, stability, and development, emphasizing the pivotal role of the neighboring countries in supporting the Libyan authorities on stability and security paths and efforts of reconstruction.
In the final statement of the consultative meeting held yesterday in Tunisia, it stressed the need to unify positions and consolidate consultation on various issues of common interest.
They stressed the importance of organizing this meeting and maintaining its regularity, alternating between the three countries, to advance the distinguished bilateral relations that bind each country to the other to a qualitatively new stage that goes beyond the bilateral framework to collective thinking and action.
They expressed their full readiness to advance and enrich this joint collective action, to deepen understanding and cooperation in the service of security, stability, and development in the region, and to distance it from the politics of the axes and the dangers of foreign interference.
They also stressed the strong condemnation of war crimes and genocide against the Palestinian people, calling for an immediate and permanent cessation of the barbaric aggression and the complete lifting of the siege on the Gaza Strip, as well as firm support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate right to establish their independent state with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital and absolute support for the right to the State of Palestine obtain full and permanent membership in the UN.
The heads of the three countries warned of the danger of foreign interference in the Sahel and Sahara region, while stressing the need for Arab and African action to assume its responsibility and role in the context of international efforts aimed at putting an end to the suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people.
